01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Set along a quiet street in Nishi-Magome, île de colline combines the warmth of a wine bar with the selection of a dedicated bottle shop. A walk-in cellar allows guests to choose a bottle directly from the racks to drink with their meal, though rotating wines by the glass provide an effortless alternative. Centred largely on California producers, the cellar is approachable, with staff happy to guide selections based on individual dishes and tastes.
Small Plates Built for Wine
The kitchen prepares dishes conceived around complementary wine pairings. Thoughtful warm starters like Abe chicken galantine with porcini and cream cheese, or thick shiitake caps stuffed with house-made salsiccia, suit opening pours. Heartier options built for sharing include a piping hot gratin layering whitebait, mashed potato, and fried egg dusted with Italian bottarga, alongside carefully cooked beef skirt steak bistecca.
From Lunch Sets to the Terrace
During the day, set lunches feature assorted antipasti, salad, and soup alongside pasta, doria rice gratin, or meat mains. A dedicated wine plate brings together artisan cheese from Yoshida Farm, rustic sourdough pain de campagne from Boulangerie de Réen, and a glass of wine for an unhurried midday match. When the weather is pleasant, outdoor terrace tables provide a comfortable perch for a relaxed, wine-focused meal.
